Terms of Use
These Terms of Use govern your use of LegalGuard Social (https://legalguardsocial.com). The app is free to use, requires no account or sign-in, and stores no screening history. By using the app you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
General information, not legal advice
The app provides general legal information generated by artificial intelligence. It is not legal advice, does not create an attorney–client relationship, and is not a substitute for advice from a qualified lawyer in your jurisdiction. You should not rely on a screening result alone when deciding whether to publish content that carries serious exposure.
AI-assisted analysis
Risk assessments, flagged issues, suggested rewrites, platform policy reviews, and answers to follow-up questions are produced by an AI model and may be incomplete, inaccurate, or out of date. You can load a suggested rewrite back into the composer to edit and re-screen it; a re-screened draft is not guaranteed to receive a lower risk rating. We make no guarantee that a "cleared" post is free of legal risk, that it complies with any platform's policies, or that a policy-compliant rewrite will avoid enforcement action.
Your content
You keep ownership of the drafts, follow-up questions, and other content you submit. You give us permission to process them (including sending them to our AI provider) solely to operate the screening service. Your drafts and results are not stored — nothing is retained after your screening is complete, so download the PDF report or copy any results you want to keep before leaving. Do not submit drafts containing information you are legally or contractually required to keep confidential.
Acceptable use
- Do not use the app to plan or facilitate unlawful activity.
- Do not attempt to disrupt, overload, or reverse-engineer the service.
- Do not resell or scrape the service without our written permission.
- Free use is subject to a per-session screening limit (currently 10 screenings per browser session), which resets when the limit is reached by leaving a $4 tip that unlocks unlimited screenings for the rest of that session. The limit may change, so the service stays free for everyone.
Donations
The service is free. If you choose to support it, donations are one-time, optional payments processed by Stripe, or direct transfers of Bitcoin (BTC) or Ethereum (ETH) to the wallet addresses published in the app. Card donations can be made using a suggested amount ($5, $15, or $50 — shown as "Cheaper than a fine", "Cheaper than a lawyer", and "Cheaper than a lawsuit"; these labels are illustrative only) or a custom amount between $2 and $1,000; each is a single one-time charge. Leaving a $4 tip unlocks unlimited screenings for the remainder of that browser session. Donations are not payment for legal services, are non-refundable except as required by law, and do not create an attorney–client relationship. We do not store your payment details — Stripe handles card payments under its own terms, and cryptocurrency transfers are made directly from your wallet; verify the network before sending, as transfers cannot be reversed or recovered.
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the app, including publishing decisions made based on a screening result.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised terms. Material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above.
